Haryana CM Saini Outlines Vision to Bring Local Mangoes to Prestigious Global Markets

Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced that the agricultural sector will lead the nation’s vision of becoming a developed country by 2047. Speaking at the inauguration of the 33rd Mango Mela at Pinjore’s historic Yadavindra Gardens, the Chief Minister urged farmers to transition from traditional producers to global value creators and exporters. He stated that the true measure of financial growth for local farmers will be realized when Haryana’s premium mangoes successfully line the shelves of supermarkets in major global hubs like New York, London, Dubai, and Tokyo.

The three-day exhibition features more than 200 distinct varieties of mangoes, showcasing the dedication, innovation, and expertise of regional cultivators. Saini emphasized the growing role of modern technology in optimizing farm yields, highlighting how Artificial Intelligence can assist in monitoring soil nutrition, managing irrigation, and predicting market demands. He also noted that digital tools are simplifying accounting for farmers, allowing them to manage expenses and profits directly from their mobile phones.

To accelerate the adoption of sustainable farming practices, the state government has expanded financial support for organic and natural farming initiatives, including dedicated subsidies for indigenous cow-based agricultural preparations. With the state currently purchasing 24 different crops under the Minimum Support Price framework, the administration aims to blend traditional wisdom with cutting-edge technology to turn Haryana’s agricultural model into a global benchmark.
