Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Thursday launched the ‘Satark-Haryana’ mobile app from the Haryana Secretariat, offering citizens a digital platform to report corruption-related complaints and information directly to the State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau (SV&ACB).
The initiative is aimed at making the process of reporting suspected corruption simpler, more secure and accessible through mobile phones. The app allows users to contact the SV&ACB helpline, upload digital evidence and access information about Anti-Corruption Bureau officials in their respective districts.
One-Touch Access To SV&ACB Helpline
One of the key features of the Satark-Haryana app is direct access to the SV&ACB helpline.
Officials said citizens may sometimes have information about corruption but may not remember the bureau’s helpline number. The app removes that hurdle by allowing users to connect with the helpline with a single tap.
This is intended to enable people to contact the bureau quickly when they need to report a corruption-related matter.
Citizens Can Share Information Without Seeking Immediate Action
The app also provides an option for citizens to share corruption-related information even when they do not immediately want action against a particular individual.
Users can submit material such as videos, audio recordings, photographs or other relevant information through the platform. Authorities said the information will be kept confidential.
The facility is also expected to help create a structured digital database of corruption-related inputs, which can be analysed and used in accordance with applicable rules when required.
District-Wise ACB Information Available
The application covers all 23 districts of Haryana. Citizens can select the district where they wish to report an issue and access the name and mobile number of the concerned SV&ACB officer.
The app also provides the office location through Google Maps, including directions to the relevant office.
This means a person who is travelling or staying in another district can use the application to identify the appropriate ACB official and either contact the officer by phone or visit the office personally.
Senior Officers Can Also Be Contacted
The app includes a mechanism for approaching senior SV&ACB officials if a citizen has a complaint regarding the conduct of an ACB officer or employee.
Users can access details of the concerned Superintendent of Police, including the officer’s name and mobile number, along with the office location and directions.
FIR Copies Can Be Downloaded Through The App
According to officials, citizens will also be able to download copies of FIRs where such copies are made available under applicable rules.
The Satark-Haryana app is currently available on the Google Play Store under the name ‘Satark Haryana’. Officials said the application may subsequently be made available on Apple’s App Store after assessing its usage and results.
ACB Chief Appeals For Genuine Information
SV&ACB chief Dr Arshinder Singh Chawla appealed to citizens to use the application responsibly and upload only genuine, factual and verifiable information.
He cautioned users against submitting misleading material or information intended merely to defame government officials or employees without a factual basis.
Chawla also said that deliberately uploading fabricated or misleading material as genuine information, including artificially generated fake content created using AI, could invite action under applicable rules.
He said the primary objective of the application is to improve the flow of information between citizens and the State Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau.
The ACB chief urged residents to participate in the digital initiative and support efforts aimed at tackling corruption in Haryana.
Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Yashpal Yadav and other senior officials were also present during the launch.
