Haryana Chief Minister outlines comprehensive vision for ‘Vibrant Haryana-2047’ roadmap

Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced a comprehensive vision for the state’s development over the next two decades, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India by 2047. Speaking at a press conference held at Haryana Niwas on Monday, Saini shared details of the “Vibrant Haryana-2047” initiative, which was the focus of a collaborative brainstorming session with state legislators. The campaign, themed “My Developed Constituency,” places individual legislative assembly areas at the core of the state’s long-term growth blueprint.

Under the new initiative, each Member of the Legislative Assembly will act as a vision champion for their respective constituency. Legislators are tasked with identifying local challenges, potential opportunities, and development priorities to formulate tailored action plans. To facilitate this, MLAs will engage directly with the public throughout July and August. The state government plans to gather extensive feedback from village communities, urban wards, farmers, youth, women, industries, self-help groups, and social organisations to ensure the developmental roadmap is built on public participation.

The state government has set several ambitious economic and social benchmarks to achieve by 2047. Key economic goals include expanding Haryana’s economy to over one trillion dollars and increasing the annual per capita income to more than four million rupees. In terms of social indicators, the administration aims to raise female labour force participation beyond 45 per cent, achieve 100 per cent female literacy, and guarantee access to quality education, healthcare, and piped drinking water for every household.

Significant focus is also directed toward education, skill development, and health outcomes. The government intends to boost overall employability to 95 per cent by linking industrial training institutes, polytechnics, and colleges directly with industries. Healthcare goals involve reducing the maternal mortality rate to below 10, bringing the infant mortality rate below five, and ensuring universal immunisation and institutional deliveries. Furthermore, the environmental strategy targets increasing the share of renewable energy in the state’s power mix to over 70 per cent while transforming water conservation into a widespread community movement.

Reflecting on the nature of the project, Saini emphasised that the strategy transcends the typical five-year political cycle. He noted that past administrations often designed short-term manifestos aimed primarily at winning elections, frequently carrying unfulfilled promises over into subsequent campaigns. In contrast, the current approach relies on a continuous 20-year execution plan. To ensure accountability, annual targets will be assigned to every government department, monitored through a centralised dashboard system, and reviewed personally by the Chief Minister to maintain steady progress toward the 2047 objectives.
