Haryana Chief Minister Orders Action Against Sub-Divisional Officer and Threatening Locals Over Land Dispute in Ladwa

Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has directed administrative and police authorities to initiate strict punitive action against a Sub-Divisional Officer and local miscreants involved in a contentious agricultural pathway dispute. Speaking during a comprehensive public grievance redressal program at Shivala Ramkundi in Ladwa, Kurukshetra on Thursday, Saini mandated a formal Sub-Divisional Magistrate inquiry into an SDO who allegedly colluded with private individuals to install electricity poles and a transformer directly in the middle of a common passage. The Chief Minister simultaneously instructed the police department to register criminal cases against individuals who have reportedly issued death threats to the landowner following his objections to the unauthorized infrastructure.

The executive directive followed a formal presentation by a complainant from Bakali village, who detailed that despite owning seven acres of land with an established, documented pathway, local electricity board officials bypassed standard protocols to block his passage. Saini reiterated that the state administration maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward administrative inertia and corruption, warning that public servants who force citizens to repeatedly make rounds of government offices for simple grievances will face severe disciplinary consequences. The Chief Minister scrutinized 338 separate public complaints during the public interaction program, emphasizing that administrative departments must ensure seamless resolution of local grievances without secondary follow-ups.

Saini utilized the platform to outline major regional infrastructure developments, highlighting that the state has allocated ₹807 crore toward comprehensive developmental works in the Ladwa assembly constituency over the past eleven and a half years. According to official expenditure breakdowns, ₹11.51 crore was utilized to lay extensive drinking water pipelines across 65 villages, while ₹10.20 crore was spent on four-laning the critical Saharanpur-Kurukshetra arterial road. The Chief Minister also confirmed that a modern Sub-Divisional Magistrate office complex is currently under construction at a cost of ₹16.20 crore, alongside the completed installation of a ₹26-crore sewerage treatment plant and associated baseline network in Ladwa town.

Reviewing specific welfare deliverables and chief ministerial pronouncements, Saini reported that out of 74 targeted CM Announcements for the region, 38 projects have been fully operationalized while the remainder undergo active execution. Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, the state has constructed 364 permanent houses for eligible rural families, with an additional 249 housing units currently at various stages of construction. The briefing—attended by former Minister of State Subhash Sudha, Deputy Commissioner Vishram Kumar Meena, and BJP District President Tijender Singh Goldy—concluded with targeted directives to the Public Works Department and Marketing Board to accelerate road repairs, school upgrades, and the construction of three permanent bridges over the Raxshi River prior to the upcoming monsoon season.
