Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini performed traditional prayers and ritual offerings at the Saketri Mahadev Temple on Monday to mark the first Monday of the holy month of Sawan. Speaking to reporters following his temple visit, the Chief Minister extended warm wishes to citizens across the state while praying for peace, prosperity, and continued progress for Haryana. He highlighted Lord Shiva’s spirit of selflessness and sacrifice as a source of renewed inspiration for society, encouraging citizens to draw motivation from these timeless values.
Emphasizing the importance of cultural heritage, Chief Minister Saini appealed to the youth to embrace traditional values while steering clear of substance abuse. He urged young individuals to prioritize education, maintain personal discipline, and actively contribute toward building a stronger society. The Chief Minister also expressed appreciation for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership in restoring major religious landmarks across the country, including Baba Kedarnath, Kashi Vishwanath, Mahakaleshwar, and Somnath, noting that these efforts have reinforced public faith and cultural pride nationwide.
Addressing administrative measures, Saini extended his best wishes to international athletes representing the country while confirming that robust security and logistical arrangements have been deployed for the annual Kanwar Yatra. He noted that instructions have been issued to state authorities to ensure smooth management, public safety, and necessary facilities for all pilgrims travelling through Haryana. Senior district administration officials, police leaders, and civic representatives were also present during the religious gathering.
