Explosion at Scrap Shop Near Ludhiana Leaves One Dead, Another Injured

Gurpreet Singh :- Panic gripped Hambra, a town on the outskirts of Ludhiana, after a powerful explosion occurred at a local scrap shop on Tuesday. The incident took place when two workers were reportedly burning scrap to extract metal, during which an unidentified object was thrown into the fire, triggering a sudden blast.

Loud explosion draws large crowd to the spot
Eyewitnesses said the impact of the explosion was so intense that it was heard across a considerable distance, prompting residents to rush to the site. Locals immediately alerted emergency services, and the injured were shifted to a nearby hospital.

One succumbs to injuries, second worker stable
The victims have been identified as Chandan Kumar (40) and Baba Phool Paswan (60). Chandan Kumar, who sustained critical injuries, was declared brought dead at the hospital. The condition of the second worker is reported to be stable and out of danger.

Police begin probe; CCTV footage under scrutiny
Senior police officials reached the spot soon after the incident and initiated an investigation. Preliminary findings, based on CCTV footage, suggest that the explosion occurred after an object was thrown into the fire. Authorities said a detailed inquiry is underway and appropriate action will be taken against those found responsible.
