Delhi Police Crack Alleged Cross-Border Terror Plot, Four Suspects Held in Coordinated Raids

Delhi (Rajeev Sharma): In a major security operation, the Delhi Police Special Cell has detained four individuals accused of plotting a terror attack in the national capital with alleged instructions originating from a Pakistan-based handler, officials said.

The arrested persons have been identified as Shubdeep Singh (23), Gurjant Singh (22), Sajan Singh (28), and Gaganpreet (24). While three of them hail from Punjab, one was picked up from Delhi during coordinated raids carried out by the Special Cell.

Police officials said the group was allegedly in regular contact with a foreign-based handler believed to be associated with Pakistan’s intelligence network. Investigators claim the communication was maintained through overseas phone numbers and encrypted channels in an attempt to avoid detection by security agencies.

During the operation, law enforcement teams recovered two foreign-manufactured pistols, multiple live cartridges, and several mobile phones suspected to contain evidence of their communications and planning activities.

Preliminary findings suggest the accused were also involved in receiving illegal consignments, including arms and narcotics, which were allegedly transported through drone drops from across the border. These supplies are believed to have been used to support their planned activities.

Officials further stated that one of the accused, Gaganpreet, had carried out reconnaissance of sensitive locations in Delhi, including police installations and religious places. He was reportedly assigned the responsibility of executing a targeted firing incident as part of the alleged plan.

A case has been registered under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act. The Special Cell has intensified its investigation to uncover possible additional members linked to the suspected network.

Authorities are now analysing digital devices seized from the accused to trace communication patterns, financial transactions, and possible local support structures. Security agencies are also examining whether the module is part of a wider network operating in northern India.

Following the arrests, security has been strengthened across sensitive areas in Delhi as a precautionary measure. Officials said the operation reflects ongoing efforts to counter emerging threats involving cross-border coordination and digitally enabled recruitment networks.

Investigations are continuing, with agencies working to establish the full extent of the alleged conspiracy and identify others who may be connected to the module.
