Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini chaired a meeting of the High-Power Purchase Committee (HPPC) in Chandigarh on Monday, April 20, 2026. During the session, the committee finalized two major agendas aimed at modernizing the state’s electrical infrastructure and accelerating industrial development in Hisar. The meeting was attended by Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Vipul Goel along with senior officials from various departments.
The committee granted formal approval for the procurement of 41 SF6 gas circuit breakers for the 220 KV transformers of the Haryana Power Distribution Corporation. This procurement, estimated at approximately ₹918.4 lakh, is intended to ensure a consistent and reliable power supply, especially during emergency situations where immediate replacements or repairs are necessary. The move is part of the state’s broader strategy to enhance the resilience of the electricity distribution network against unforeseen outages.
In a significant step for industrial growth, the CM also approved the appointment of a specialized consultant to act as a program manager for the Integrated Manufacturing Cluster (IMC) in Hisar. The appointed advisor will oversee the development of core infrastructure and manage the planning of new industrial townships for a period of three years. This decision is expected to fast-track the establishment of Hisar as a major manufacturing and economic hub, providing streamlined oversight and expert guidance for the large-scale project.
