Dehradun, July 25, 2025 — Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has instructed officials to initiate a comprehensive safety audit of all schools and bridges across the state to safeguard students and residents. During a meeting held at his official residence, CM Dhami stressed that no child should be made to study in unsafe or dilapidated school buildings. He directed authorities to inspect all school structures, including toilets, and to immediately take steps toward repair or reconstruction wherever necessary.
In addition to educational infrastructure, Dhami emphasized the need for stringent safety audits of all bridges in the state. Officials were instructed to identify vulnerable bridges and execute repair and reconstruction work as per the required safety standards, warning that no negligence would be tolerated.
The Chief Minister also urged quick implementation of tourism initiatives, including the development of Triyuginarayan and other sites as wedding destinations. He reiterated the state government’s commitment to establishing two spiritual economic zones to boost religious tourism and local livelihoods.
In a related development, Dhami ordered the suspension of Dehradun District Excise Officer KP Singh for alleged negligence and for misleading officials over the relocation of liquor shops. The order was executed by Excise Commissioner Anuradha Pal following directions from the Chief Minister.
Meanwhile, Dhami also extended his congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for becoming the second-longest-serving Prime Minister in independent India’s history. PM Modi, who assumed office in 2014, surpassed Indira Gandhi’s record by completing 4,078 days in office. Dhami praised the Prime Minister’s leadership, stating that development was reaching the last person in society due to his tireless efforts.
