Punjab AG Maninderjit Singh Bedi designated as Senior Advocate

National Times Bureau :- The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Friday accorded senior advocate status to Punjab Advocate General Maninderjit Singh Bedi. According to an official notification issued by the Registrar General, the High Court exercised its authority under Section 16(2) of the Advocates Act, 1961 to grant Bedi the senior designation. His elevation will take effect from the date of the notification. The court has also stipulated that as part of the designation, Bedi must handle ten pro bono cases each year under the ‘Free Legal Aid’ category.
