Chandigarh/Patiala, December 22, 2025: Former Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Amar Singh Chahal allegedly attempted suicide on Monday and is currently battling for life at a private hospital in Patiala, police officials said.Patiala Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Varun Sharma confirmed that Chahal was found in a critical condition and was immediately shifted to hospital for emergency treatment.
