BJP Appoints Union Minister C.R. Patil as Punjab Election In-Charge Ahead of 2027 Polls

New Delhi (Gurpreet Singh): Union Jal Shakti Minister and senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader C.R. Patil has been appointed as the party’s election in-charge for Punjab ahead of the 2027 state legislative assembly elections. Following his appointment, Patil has stepped up strategic consultations and organizational meetings to strengthen the party’s operational apparatus and assess ground-level political dynamics across the state.

Known for his extensive organizational background and election-management experience, Patil is expected to play a central role in shaping the party’s campaign strategy and expanding its grassroots presence. The appointment comes as the BJP prepares to contest the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections independently, seeking to establish itself as a principal political contender in what is anticipated to be a multi-cornered electoral contest.

In addition to his political role, Patil has maintained active engagement with Punjab’s regional governance issues in his capacity as Union Jal Shakti Minister. He has been involved in high-level inter-state discussions regarding long-standing water-sharing disputes, including the Sutlej-Yamuna Link canal, while also chairing administrative reviews with state officials regarding rural sanitation infrastructure and the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission.
