Rajeev Sharma :- The government has halted sugar exports with immediate effect, suspending overseas shipments until September 30, 2026 until it issues fresh directions. The government has taken this step to stop domestic sugar prices from rising at a time when food inflation is already a major concern for Indian families. The ban applies to both raw and refined sugar exports. However, some shipments that were already in progress will still be allowed.
