Agra Woman Arrested for Murdering Husband, Burying Body Under Bathroom Floor

New Delhi (Gurpreet Singh): The Agra Police on Friday arrested a woman, identified as Ruby Sharma, for allegedly murdering her 45-year-old husband, Surendra Sharma, and burying his body beneath their bathroom floor. To conceal the crime, the accused had also filed a formal missing person’s complaint with the police. The victim had been missing for approximately 45 days before investigators uncovered the crime scene at the couple’s residence in Renuka Dham Colony, situated under the jurisdiction of the Sikandra police station.

According to Assistant Commissioner of Police Amisha, Ruby allegedly killed her husband and buried his remains under the bathroom floor, subsequently sealing the area with a fresh layer of concrete. The breakthrough in the case occurred during routine police questioning regarding the disappearance complaint she had lodged. Investigators noticed inconsistencies in her statements, which ultimately led to a confession and the subsequent excavation of the bathroom floor to recover the body.

Local residents indicated that the couple experienced frequent domestic disputes. A neighbour, Gaurav Dixit, noted that Surendra, originally a native of Bharatpur, had resided in the colony for nearly nine years. He added that when community members repeatedly questioned Ruby about her husband’s sudden absence over the past month and a half, she routinely provided evasive answers to deflect suspicion. The police have taken Ruby into custody and are currently interrogating her to establish the exact motive behind the murder.
