PM Modi, Amit Shah, Badal Family Members May Share Stage at Manpreet Badal’s Daughter’s Wedding Reception in Delhi

New Delhi (Gurpreet Singh): A high-profile wedding reception in the national capital on Tuesday evening is likely to bring together prominent political figures from the BJP and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Badal family members among the expected guests.
The occasion is the wedding celebrations of Rhea, daughter of former Punjab Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal. The reception is scheduled to take place around 8 pm at the Lutyens’ Delhi residence of Jai Inder Kaur, president of the BJP Punjab Mahila Morcha and daughter of former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh.
Rhea is marrying RK Martand Singh, grandson of veteran Congress leader Karan Singh. The wedding ceremony will be held earlier in the evening, followed by the reception at Jai Inder Kaur’s residence.
Several senior political leaders are expected to attend, including Modi, Shah, Captain Amarinder Singh, senior BJP representatives, SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal and former Union minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal.
Beyond the family celebrations, the gathering has attracted political attention because it could bring leaders of the BJP and SAD together in an informal social setting. The two parties, which were once allies in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), have remained politically separated since the Akali Dal withdrew from the alliance in 2020.
The timing of the event is also significant amid renewed speculation about a possible rapprochement between the former partners. Shah has spoken about the possibility of an NDA government in Punjab on two recent occasions, addressing the subject in Delhi on October 24 and Chandigarh on November 1.
Although the expected presence of senior leaders does not necessarily indicate any formal political development, their possible meeting at the reception is likely to attract considerable attention in Punjab’s political circles.
