Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana has received investment proposals worth approximately Rs 12,000 crore on the first day of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini’s Gujarat visit, with companies signing memorandums of understanding (MoUs) across sectors including defence textiles, technical textiles, industrial machinery, renewable energy and waste-to-energy.
Saini held one-to-one meetings with company founders, managing directors and chief executive officers to discuss potential investments, expansion of existing operations and the establishment of new industrial units in Haryana. State Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh was also present during the discussions.
According to the Haryana government, the proposed investments reflect industry interest in the state’s industrial infrastructure, investment incentives and business facilitation measures. The proposals will need to be implemented to translate the announced commitments into actual investments and employment.
Defence Textiles, Waste-To-Energy Lead Investment Proposals
The MoUs announced during the first day of the visit cover several sectors, with defence textiles accounting for the largest individual proposal.
The proposed investments include:
- Defence textiles: Rs 5,000 crore
- Waste-to-energy: Rs 4,000 crore
- Technical textiles: Rs 2,000 crore
- Industrial machinery: Rs 500 crore
- Solar energy and cosmetics manufacturing: Rs 400 crore
The sector-wise figures listed in the announcement total Rs 11,900 crore, broadly corresponding to the government’s headline figure of approximately Rs 12,000 crore.
The proposed investments could support the expansion of industrial activity, development of ancillary businesses and creation of new business partnerships, subject to the projects moving forward.
Haryana Highlights Single-Window System And Industrial Infrastructure
Saini said the state government was committed to creating a business-friendly environment and attracting investment that could generate employment opportunities for young people.
He highlighted efforts to simplify industrial procedures, provide time-bound approvals and improve coordination among government departments. The state’s single-window system, investment promotion policies, connectivity and industrial infrastructure were also presented as factors intended to make it easier for companies to establish and operate projects.
The Chief Minister said the government would work with investors to facilitate necessary permissions and provide eligible incentives in accordance with applicable rules. He added that industry feedback would be considered while improving policies and administrative processes.
During the meetings, industry representatives reportedly expressed interest in Haryana’s industrial infrastructure, plug-and-play facilities and business facilitation arrangements, while sharing suggestions about investment opportunities in different sectors.
Investors Invited To Happening Haryana Global Summit 2027
Saini invited the companies and investors to participate in the Happening Haryana Global Summit, scheduled for April 2027.
The government said its broader objective was to develop Haryana into a major centre for investment, innovation, entrepreneurship and job creation. It also expects the proposed projects to strengthen local supply chains and contribute to the state’s industrial capacity if implemented.
Senior officials accompanying the delegation included Chief Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Rajesh Khullar, Industries and Commerce Department Director General Yash Garg, Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation Managing Director Vinay Pratap Singh and Additional Managing Director Anirudh Yadav.
The investment proposals announced during the Gujarat visit mark the latest effort by the Haryana government to attract businesses to the state. Their eventual economic impact will depend on project approvals, financing, implementation timelines and the extent to which the proposed investments are realised.
