Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh) — Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini met with prominent business leaders and commercial representatives of Punjab and Haryana origin during an official visit to Singapore on Wednesday, inviting the overseas Indian diaspora to actively participate in the state’s industrial expansion. Commending expatriate entrepreneurs for establishing a significant presence in one of the world’s leading financial centres, Saini emphasized that their international expertise and enterprise could play a transformative role in driving regional economic development.
Drawing comparisons with Singapore’s rise as a global trading hub built on visionary policies, good governance, and advanced infrastructure despite geographic constraints, the Chief Minister remarked that Haryana is pursuing a similar trajectory. He stated that the state administration remains dedicated to delivering a seamless commercial climate marked by administrative transparency, robust law enforcement, and modernized logistics. Saini called upon overseas industrialists to capitalise on these conditions and align their ventures with India’s broader development goals under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Highlighting central and regional initiatives, Saini pointed to key governance milestones, including the construction of the Kartarpur Corridor to honour long-standing community aspirations and the Haryana government’s policy of providing public-sector employment to families affected by the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. Turning to industrial readiness, he underscored Haryana’s strategic positioning, extensive transport connectivity, skilled talent pool, and tailored policy incentives as core strengths that make the state a prime destination for fresh capital.
Reiterating his administration’s pledge to maintain an open and consistent dialogue with overseas investors, the Chief Minister concluded the interactive session by extending a formal invitation to the business delegation to visit the state. He welcomed the diaspora representatives to his official residence, Sant Kabir Kutir, in Chandigarh to explore concrete partnership opportunities and advance discussions on future industrial collaboration.
