Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday paid tribute to freedom fighter Rao Tula Ram on his martyrdom day, remembering his role in the 1857 uprising against British rule.
Saini said Rao Tula Ram displayed courage, bravery and patriotism while fighting against the British and that his life and sacrifice continue to serve as an inspiration for future generations.
Rao Tula Ram’s Role In The 1857 Uprising
The Chief Minister highlighted Rao Tula Ram’s contribution to the resistance against British rule in the southwestern parts of present-day Haryana.
He said Rao Tula Ram dedicated himself to the cause of India’s freedom and demonstrated leadership and courage during the First War of Independence in 1857.
Saini said Rao Tula Ram chose to continue his struggle for freedom despite difficult circumstances instead of surrendering before the British authorities. His sacrifice and commitment to the nation, he added, continue to inspire people to work in the national interest.

Describing Rao Tula Ram’s story as an important chapter in Haryana’s history, Saini said his contribution keeps alive the memory of the many freedom fighters who fought for India’s independence.
He added that Rao Tula Ram’s legacy continues to inspire a sense of patriotism and reminds people of the sacrifices made during the freedom struggle.
Appeal To Young Generation
Saini urged young people to learn about the life, struggle and ideals of freedom fighters such as Rao Tula Ram and draw inspiration from their contributions.
He said their values can continue to encourage citizens to contribute towards nation-building and uphold the country’s unity, integrity and honour.
