Chandigarh (Gurpreet Singh): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced a fresh organisational reshuffle ahead of the 2027 Assembly election cycle, assigning new state in-charges and co-in-charges across several states and Union Territories.
Former Union minister and BJP national general secretary Smriti Irani has been appointed the party’s in-charge for Haryana. She will be assisted by Bhola Singh, who has been named co-in-charge.
Punjab has been assigned to Satish Poonia, while former Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva and Alka Gurjar have been appointed co-in-charges for the state.
BJP Announces New Charges For Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh
The party has appointed senior Uttar Pradesh leader Shrikant Sharma as its in-charge for Himachal Pradesh. Mahendra Pandey will oversee the organisation in Chandigarh.
The changes are part of the BJP’s wider organisational exercise ahead of the next round of Assembly elections.
New BJP Appointments In Maharashtra, Gujarat And Madhya Pradesh
In Maharashtra, Rajya Sabha MP Baijayant Panda has been made the state in-charge. Former BJP IT cell chief Amit Malviya and Delhi MP Kamaljeet Sehrawat will assist him as co-in-charges.
Senior BJP leader Tarun Chugh has been assigned Gujarat, while national general secretary Biplab Deb will take charge of Madhya Pradesh.
For Delhi, the party has appointed senior leader Vinay Sahasrabuddhe as in-charge, with former Ladakh MP Jamyang Namgyal serving as co-in-charge.
BJP Assigns Leaders To Poll-Bound States
The BJP has also made several appointments in states scheduled for Assembly elections. Poonia has been given Punjab, while national general secretary Vinod Tawde will oversee Uttar Pradesh.
Former Union minister Bharti Pawar has been appointed in-charge for Goa, Rajdeep Roy for Manipur, Shrikant Sharma for Himachal Pradesh and Tarun Chugh for Gujarat.
The organisational changes come as the BJP prepares its state-level structure for the upcoming election cycle, with senior leaders being assigned responsibilities across key states.
