Delhi (Rajeev Sharma): Delhi Police have apprehended one of the suspects in connection with an alleged sexual assault involving a 17-year-old girl near the Kalkaji Temple area, following a brief exchange of fire with police.
The incident was reported after a PCR call was received at around 8:45 p.m., with the information recorded under a daily diary entry. Police said the teenager had visited the Kalkaji Temple with another 17-year-old friend.
According to the preliminary account provided by Delhi Police, the two girls went to Astha Kunj Park after visiting the temple. At around 7:30 p.m., three men allegedly approached them and claimed to be police personnel before threatening them.
Police said the victim alleged that the men restrained her friend and sexually assaulted her. The case is now under investigation, with officers working to establish the full sequence of events and identify the remaining suspects.
One of the accused was subsequently apprehended after a brief confrontation with police, during which an exchange of fire reportedly took place.
Authorities are continuing efforts to locate the other suspects and are examining the circumstances surrounding the alleged incident. Further details are expected as the investigation progresses.
