Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has directed officials to ensure that farmers do not face difficulties during the upcoming paddy procurement season and said every grain of the crop will be purchased.
Saini held a meeting with farmers, commission agents, traders, rice millers and administrative officials at the Babain Anaj Mandi on Sunday to review preparations for paddy procurement.
He directed the Food and Supplies Department and mandi officials to make necessary arrangements and warned that strict action would be taken if any negligence is found during the procurement process.
Mera Fasal Mera Byora Portal To Open From September 21
The Chief Minister said the Mera Fasal Mera Byora (MFM) portal will remain open for farmers from September 21 to September 27.
Farmers who have not yet submitted their applications can register their crop details during this period.
Saini said the decision was taken after the government received information that some farmers were yet to complete crop verification or had not submitted their details on the portal.
Farmers whose verification is pending have been asked to submit a written application to their respective Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) so that the verification process can be completed.
CM Reviews Paddy Procurement Arrangements
During the meeting at Babain Market Committee office, Saini discussed the arrangements for the procurement season with representatives of different stakeholders.
The Chief Minister stressed that farmers should not face unnecessary problems while bringing their produce to mandis.
Officials were directed to ensure that procurement arrangements remain smooth and that complaints related to the process are addressed promptly.
Haryana Government Highlights MSP Procurement
Saini said the state government was implementing policies aimed at supporting farmers and claimed that all 24 crops in Haryana are being procured at Minimum Support Price (MSP).
He also highlighted the Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana, under which eligible vegetable growers receive support when they do not get the prescribed price for their produce.
The Chief Minister further mentioned the PM-KISAN Samman Nidhi, under which eligible farmers receive Rs 6,000 annually directly into their bank accounts.
He also highlighted crop insurance coverage and government subsidies for agricultural machinery as other measures aimed at supporting farmers.
Farmers Asked To Complete Verification
With the paddy procurement season approaching, the government has urged farmers to complete the required registration and verification process within the September 21-27 window.
The administration has also been asked to coordinate with farmers, commission agents, traders and rice millers to ensure the procurement process runs smoothly.
