Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has announced that eligible women from families with an annual income of up to Rs 1.80 lakh will be covered under the Deen Dayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana from November.
The scheme provides eligible women with Rs 2,100 per month. According to the Chief Minister, the government expanded the scheme on September 17, coinciding with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, raising the annual family income eligibility limit from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.80 lakh.
Saini said the application portal has been opened following the expansion and eligible women will start receiving the benefit from November 1.
Lado Lakshmi Yojana Eligibility Expanded
Before the latest expansion, families with an annual income of up to Rs 1 lakh were eligible for the scheme.
The Chief Minister said more than Rs 2,000 crore has already been transferred directly into the bank accounts of eligible beneficiaries under the scheme.
The government had introduced the scheme with a monthly assistance of Rs 2,100 for eligible women.
Nayab Singh Saini On Government Jobs
Speaking at public interaction programmes in the Ladwa Assembly constituency, Saini also highlighted the state government’s record on government recruitment.
He claimed that around 2 lakh young people have received government jobs over the past 12 years based on merit and without what he described as the earlier practice of “kharchi-parchi”.
The Chief Minister said the government was working to ensure that candidates from economically weaker backgrounds could secure government employment on the basis of merit, from Group D positions to Haryana Civil Service posts.
Rs 1.12 Crore Development Announcements For Villages
During his visit, Saini announced development funds for Kalirano, Sultanpur, Sonti and Beed Sonti villages.
For Kalirano, he announced Rs 21 lakh for village development and Rs 2 lakh for library books. Sultanpur was allocated Rs 21 lakh for development and Rs 5 lakh for the local gurdwara.
The Chief Minister also announced Rs 21 lakh each for development works in Sonti and Beed Sonti, along with Rs 21 lakh each for the respective village gurdwaras, according to the statement.
CM Saini Highlights Government’s Election Promises
Saini said the Haryana government had made 217 commitments before the elections and had so far completed 70 of them, while work on the remaining promises was continuing.
He also highlighted road and highway projects undertaken to improve connectivity across the state.
Saini Claims All 24 Crops Being Procured At MSP
The Chief Minister also spoke about agricultural procurement and claimed that Haryana had become the first state to begin purchasing all 24 crops at Minimum Support Price (MSP).
He accused the Congress of creating confusion among farmers over MSP and said the government had introduced the Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana to address situations where farmers receive lower prices for their produce in markets.
Saini claimed that farmers in Haryana had received Rs 16,500 crore in compensation for crop damage under the current government, compared with Rs 137 crore during the previous Congress government.
The claims were made by the Chief Minister during his public interaction programmes in Ladwa.
