Gurugram (Balwinder Singh): A road incident involving a woman motorcyclist on Gurugram’s Golf Course Road has drawn widespread attention online after footage of the alleged hit-and-run surfaced on social media.
The rider, who uses the Instagram handle @rebelwheels_sia_, posted the video and described what she said was a frightening encounter with a white sedan during a Sunday morning motorcycle ride.
According to her account, the car began following her group closely and driving aggressively. She said she signalled to the driver to maintain a safe distance, following which the driver allegedly gestured for her to stop.
The biker further claimed that the people inside the vehicle appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. The allegation has not been independently established.
As the rider attempted to move away from the vehicle, she alleged that the sedan suddenly moved towards her motorcycle and struck it.
The impact reportedly knocked her onto the road, while her motorcycle was dragged for several metres before the car left the area.
The incident was captured on video, which has since circulated widely on social media, prompting concern over road safety and aggressive driving in Gurugram.
Rider undergoing treatment
The woman sustained injuries in the incident and is currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Gurugram.
In her social media post, she said the episode left her feeling unsafe while travelling on the city’s roads. She also criticised the driver for allegedly leaving the scene instead of stopping after the collision.
The incident has triggered reactions online, with users calling for strict action if the allegations are established.
Police investigation underway
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and are examining the available video footage as part of the inquiry.
Authorities are expected to establish the sequence of events, identify the vehicle and determine what led to the collision. The allegations regarding the driver’s conduct and possible intoxication will also need to be verified through the investigation.
