Ammy Virk Escapes Unhurt After Gunfire Targets Rolls-Royce in Canada

Abbotsford, Canada (Gurpreet Singh): Punjabi singer and actor Ammy Virk reportedly escaped unharmed after gunshots were fired at the luxury vehicle in which he was travelling following a show in Abbotsford, Canada, late Saturday night.

The incident took place at around 11 pm near the intersection of McCallum Road and South Fraser Way, shortly after Virk left the venue. According to reports, unidentified attackers opened fire at a Rolls-Royce Cullinan carrying four people, including the singer.

Initial accounts suggested that a vehicle had been targeted, but organisers later clarified that Virk was inside the car when the shooting occurred.

Seven bullets hit luxury vehicle

Reports indicate that between seven and 10 rounds were fired during the attack. Seven bullets reportedly struck the Rolls-Royce, with substantial damage caused to the rear windshield.

Despite the gunfire, none of the four occupants suffered injuries. The vehicle’s construction is being credited with preventing the bullets from penetrating the passenger compartment.

The incident occurred shortly after Virk’s performance, adding to concerns over the safety of high-profile Punjabi artists travelling for shows abroad.

Suspected getaway vehicle found burned

The investigation took another turn after police discovered a suspected SUV allegedly connected to the shooting burned near Sunnyside Place, around five kilometres from where the gunfire took place.

Police have confirmed that both the shooting and the subsequent vehicle fire are being investigated. However, authorities have not disclosed whether Virk himself was the intended target, citing privacy considerations.

Apart from Virk, another person travelling in the Rolls-Royce was reportedly from Surrey and had previously survived multiple attempts on his life. This aspect is also expected to be examined as investigators try to establish the motive behind the attack.

Police investigate possible targeted attack

The circumstances surrounding the shooting, including the number of rounds fired and the burning of the suspected vehicle, have prompted a serious investigation by Canadian authorities.

Investigators are expected to examine CCTV footage, forensic evidence and other available information to establish who carried out the attack and why the vehicle was targeted.

The incident has also renewed concerns within the Punjabi entertainment community about the safety of singers and performers travelling for concerts in Canada.

The Punjabi music industry has previously witnessed the fatal shooting of singer Sidhu Moosewala, and the latest incident has once again caused anxiety among artists, their families and fans.

For now, Ammy Virk and the other occupants are reported to be safe, while Canadian authorities continue their probe into the shooting and the subsequent burning of the suspected getaway vehicle.
