Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): The Haryana government has invited applications from Sikh pilgrims intending to participate in religious celebrations in Pakistan marking the Prakash Purab of Guru Nanak Dev, scheduled to take place from November 22 to December 1, 2026. A government spokesperson announced in Chandigarh on Tuesday that the state Home Department has formally opened the registration window for devotees seeking inclusion in the proposed Sikh pilgrim delegation (jatha).
Pilgrims from Haryana must submit their complete applications to the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee in Kurukshetra on or before September 12, 2026. The department emphasized that early submission is essential to ensure police verification, background checks, and official administrative clearances are concluded within the designated time frame.
The spokesperson urged all applicants to attach valid documentation and verified personal credentials along with their forms. The administration clarified that incomplete paperwork or entries submitted after the September 12 cut-off will not be entertained under any circumstances, with valid applications processed in accordance with standard statutory procedures governing cross-border pilgrimages.
