Punjab Women Commission Organizes ‘She Runs – 2026’ Marathon in Maur to Promote Empowerment

Bathinda (Gurpreet Singh): The Punjab Woman Commission is holding marathon She Runs – 2026 on Sep 9 at Maur, which is first of its kind exclusive women’s marathon in state to promote quality, health and women empowerment.
The chairperson Punjab Woman Commissioner Madam Raj Lalli Gill said this while addressing the media persons. Mr Neel Garg, chairman Punjab Medium Industry Development Board was also present.
She added that the marathon reiterates Punjab government’s commitment towards uplifting the status of women and giving them equal status in the society. The chairperson said that the 2.5 kms long marathon will be held at the grain market in Maur wherein women from all age groups shall be participating. The chairperson said that not only women, but men shall also be part of the marathon as father, brother and husband supporting the women.
Madam Gill said that the marathon will be replicated across all the districts of state to bring empower women and bring them together under one-roof. She called upon all sections of the society to be a part of this mega event.
