TORONTO (Rajeev Sharma): — The Canadian Hindu Chamber of Commerce (CHCC) is expanding its role as a growing business and advocacy organization for Indian Hindu entrepreneurs and professionals in Canada, with its active participation in high-level engagements involving senior Indian government officials helping create new opportunities for stronger economic connections between Canada and India.
A key engagement was the Indian Diaspora and Businessmen Reception hosted by the Consulate General of India in Toronto on August 25, 2026, in the presence of Hon. Nirmala Sitharaman Ji, Finance Minister of the Government of India. CHCC members attended the reception and actively participated in the Q&A session, raising relevant questions and engaging in discussions on India’s economic growth, financial stability and opportunities for stronger Canada–India business relations.
Minister Sitharaman highlighted India’s economic progress and the strength and resilience of its financial and banking sectors, while outlining the significant potential for expanding economic and bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
For CHCC, participation in such engagements is part of its growing mission to advocate for Indian Hindu businesses, strengthen professional networks and help entrepreneurs explore opportunities to grow in both Canada and India. The Chamber is increasingly creating a platform for business leaders to connect with government representatives, investors, institutions and potential partners across borders.
