Kathmandu (Rajeev Sharma): India has extended fresh humanitarian assistance to Nepal as the country continues to respond to the destruction caused by severe flooding.
Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava handed over 10 tonnes of humanitarian relief supplies to Nepal’s Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Khadka Raj Poudel, the Embassy of India said.
The assistance is intended to support relief operations and help communities affected by the floods, which have caused widespread disruption and damage in parts of Nepal.
The Indian Embassy highlighted the close ties between the two neighbouring countries while announcing the aid. In a post on X, it said India remains “Always with Nepal” and reiterated its readiness to extend further assistance.
The embassy said the latest consignment would contribute to ongoing efforts to provide relief to people affected by the floods.
“India stands firmly with Nepal and is committed to providing all possible support,” the embassy said.
The delivery of relief material comes as Nepal continues to deal with the consequences of the flooding and assist affected communities. Humanitarian supplies are being mobilised as authorities work to address immediate needs arising from the disaster.
India and Nepal have maintained close ties and have regularly supported each other during emergencies and natural disasters. The latest aid contribution is being seen as another expression of New Delhi’s continued support for Nepal during the current crisis.
