Social Harmony Means Equal Respect For Every Identity, Not Erasing It: Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini

Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday said social harmony does not mean erasing individual identities but ensuring equal respect for all while strengthening unity in society and the nation.

Addressing the Samrasta Sammelan and Pratibha Samman Samaroh organised by the Meghwal Utthan Samiti in the Bawal constituency of Rewari district, Saini said social harmony should be seen as a way of life rather than a one-day event.

The Chief Minister also felicitated 411 young achievers from the Meghwal community for their accomplishments in education, medicine, engineering, sports and other fields.

‘Development Must Reach The Last Person In Society’

Saini said the Haryana government was working towards the goal of Antyodaya, inspired by the principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas”.

He said the government’s objective was to ensure that development schemes and their benefits first reach those who are economically and socially disadvantaged.

Referring to Sant Guru Ravidas Ji, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, Savitribai Phule and Dr BR Ambedkar, Saini said these social reformers followed different paths but shared the goal of creating a society based on education, dignity, equality and equal opportunities.

CM Saini Highlights Education Schemes For SC Students

The Chief Minister said financial difficulties should not prevent talented students from pursuing their ambitions.

He said Scheduled Caste students from families with an annual income of up to Rs 2.50 lakh are being provided free coaching for competitive examinations.

Under the Dr Ambedkar Medhavi Chhattar Sanshodhit Yojana, eligible students receive annual scholarships ranging from Rs 8,000 to Rs 12,000, while post-matric students are provided academic allowances ranging between Rs 2,500 and Rs 13,500, besides support for compulsory fees.

According to Saini, 9,090 students have been provided free bicycles at a cost of Rs 3 crore, while 4.02 lakh students from Classes 1 to 8 have received incentives worth Rs 44.18 crore.

He also highlighted Mission Buniyaad, saying around 400 children received digital coaching under the programme. Of these, 272 secured admission to institutions including IITs, while 61 qualified for medical admissions through NEET, he said.

“Whenever talent gets the right platform, it makes an impact,” Saini said.

CM Highlights Lado Lakshmi, Marriage Assistance Schemes

Saini said the government’s objective was not limited to providing financial assistance but also to help disadvantaged families become self-reliant.

Under the Mukhyamantri Vivah Shagun Yojana, Scheduled Caste families are provided assistance of Rs 71,000 for the marriage of their daughters. The Chief Minister said around Rs 1,200 crore had been distributed under the scheme over the past 11 years.

He also claimed that Rs 2,042 crore had been transferred to the bank accounts of 10 lakh women under the Lado Lakshmi Yojana over the past 18 months.

Saini said the registration portal for the scheme would reopen in September for eligible women belonging to families with an annual income of up to Rs 1.80 lakh.

CM Announces Rs 31 Lakh For Meghwal Utthan Samiti

The Chief Minister assured positive action on the 10 demands raised by the Meghwal Utthan Samiti, saying they would be forwarded to the concerned departments for necessary approvals.

Responding to demands for the construction of dharamshalas in Rewari and Bawal, Saini asked the committee to identify suitable locations, following which the government would initiate the process of providing land as per rules.

He also announced Rs 31 lakh for the Meghwal Utthan Samiti.

Saini said the government aims to establish libraries in every panchayat and claimed that around 1,000 libraries have already been opened across Haryana.

411 Young Achievers Felicitated In Bawal

During the programme, Saini honoured 411 young achievers from the Meghwal community. Several students were presented medals and certificates on stage for achievements across different fields.

Haryana Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh said the Ahirwal region had witnessed significant infrastructure and employment-related development since 2014.

Bawal MLA Dr Krishan Kumar said the Haryana government was working towards building a socially inclusive society inspired by the principles of Dr BR Ambedkar, Guru Ravidas Ji and other social reformers.

Rewari MLA Laxman Yadav, Kosli MLA Anil Yadav, former minister Dr Banwari Lal and other dignitaries were also present at the event.
