New Delhi (Rajeev Sharma): Former Delhi minister Satyendar Jain was brought to the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) office on Wednesday by officials from the agency and Delhi Police, amid an investigation into alleged corruption in sewage treatment plant projects.
Jain was arrested on August 18 over allegations related to the augmentation and upgradation of sewage treatment plants (STPs) in Delhi. The case involves suspected irregularities in the tendering process for the projects.
After his arrest, Jain was taken to the ACB premises as investigators continued their probe into the allegations. Officials are examining the tender process and other aspects of the contracts connected with the STP works.
The sewage treatment projects are part of Delhi’s efforts to strengthen its wastewater management infrastructure. The allegations being investigated relate specifically to how the contracts and tenders for the projects were handled.
The latest movement of Jain to the ACB office comes as the agency proceeds with its investigation. Further action in the case will depend on the findings of the ongoing probe and subsequent legal proceedings.
Jain has been arrested in connection with the allegations, which remain subject to investigation and judicial proceedings.
