Amargarh (Gurpreet Singh): On the auspicious occasion of Teej celebration, a large number of women enthusiastically participated in a celebration organized by MLA Prof. Jaswant Singh Gajjan Majra in the Amargrh constituency. The entire event appeared immersed in the colors of Punjabi culture, with women dressed in colorful traditional attire, folk songs and cultural performances.
During the event, women discussed not only Teej but also the Punjab government’s ‘Mawan-Dhiyan Satkar Yojana’. The women said that, for the first time, issues related to their day-to-day needs and economic dignity have been given such prominence in the government’s policies. Under this scheme, which was launched in July 2026, women are being provided monthly financial assistance.
On this occasion, MLA Gajjan Majra said that Teej is not merely a festival, but a celebration connected with the happiness, dignity and cultural heritage of Punjab’s daughters and women. He said that the Punjab government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, is not only empowering women but also giving new momentum to development in villages and cities.
He said that the pace of development in the Amargrh constituency has continuously accelerated. Crores of rupees worth of projects are also underway to provide canal water to farmers.
The enthusiasm and large participation of women at the event indicated that the women of Amargrh are now not limited to merely celebrating festivals, but are also fully aware of Punjab’s politics and their future. Positive discussions were seen among the women regarding government schemes and the development works carried out in the constituency.
During the event, enthusiasm was also visible among the women regarding the upcoming elections. Several women said, “A government that works should be given another chance, and the Bhagwant Mann government should be re-elected so that Punjab’s journey of development can move forward.”
The Teej celebration once again conveyed the message that in Amargrh, women’s participation is now moving beyond social gatherings to become a strong voice for development and political change.
