Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman Travels to Jaipur via Vande Bharat Express for BRICS Meeting

New Delhi (Gurpreet Singh): Passengers aboard the Vande Bharat Express from New Delhi to Jaipur experienced a pleasant surprise when Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman joined them on their journey. The Finance Minister boarded the high-speed train to travel to Jaipur, where she is scheduled to represent India at the BRICS Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors’ meeting. Her presence created a flurry of excitement among commuters as she actively engaged with fellow travellers throughout the trip.

The train journey formed part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Gen Z outreach initiative, designed to foster direct dialogue between top government leadership and young citizens. Four young individuals, including two post-graduate students in media studies and two early-career media professionals, accompanied the Minister on the route to Jaipur. During the transit, Sitharaman hosted a freewheeling discussion with the group, covering a broad range of topics including global geopolitics, economic trends, and key issues facing Indian youth today.

Upon arriving in Jaipur, the Finance Minister will join international delegates to deliberate on critical global economic conditions, macroeconomic stability, and cross-border financial cooperation ahead of the upcoming BRICS Summit. The outreach drive highlights the government’s efforts to combine high-level diplomatic commitments with direct public engagement, offering young professionals an accessible platform to share their perspectives on nation-building and policy development.
