Dehradun (Rajeev Sharma): Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant has reached out to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, seeking his intervention in what he described as a long-standing difficulty in acquiring land in the state.
Pant said he has been attempting to shift his base from Delhi to Uttarakhand for nearly three years but has so far been unable to find a suitable property that meets his requirements.
In his message to the Chief Minister, Pant highlighted his strong emotional connection with the state and said his intention was not merely to relocate but also to contribute to the development of his home state.
The cricketer said he had been searching for a sufficiently large place where he could establish his base, but the process of purchasing land had become increasingly complicated.
According to Pant, obtaining clarity over land-related matters has been a major hurdle. He requested Dhami’s assistance in facilitating the acquisition process and asked the Chief Minister to personally look into his case.
Wants to return to Uttarakhand
Pant recalled his earlier efforts to promote Uttarakhand and said he now wanted to make a more permanent return to his roots.
“I love my Uttarakhand,” Pant said in his message, expressing his desire to settle in the state and contribute to its growth.
He further said he wanted to return to his “Pahadi people” and work towards building and supporting the region.
The cricketer also indicated that certain expectations regarding land had remained unresolved despite his association with promotional activities for the state.
Three-year wait
Pant said the search for land had continued for around three years, describing the experience as increasingly difficult. He appealed to the Chief Minister to examine the issue and help find a way forward.
The request comes amid Uttarakhand’s broader focus on regulating land purchases and protecting local interests, making land acquisition a closely watched issue in the hill state.
Pant concluded his appeal by seeking a response from the Chief Minister, underlining that his long-term objective is to shift back from Delhi and establish himself in his native Uttarakhand.
