Delhi Metro Closes 17 Key Central Stations Starting July 24 Amid Security Measures

New Delhi (Gurpreet Singh): The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced the temporary closure of 17 major metro stations across Central Delhi, effective from 7:30 AM tomorrow, July 24, 2026. According to an official update issued by the transit authority, entry and exit at these designated stations will remain suspended until further instructions are provided by security and administrative officials.

Despite the station closures, DMRC confirmed that passenger interchange facilities will remain operational at key junction stations. Commuters traveling through Rajiv Chowk, Mandi House, and Central Secretariat will still be able to change lines, though direct access to exit or enter the street level at these locations will be restricted during the closure period.

The list of affected stations primarily covers high-density commercial, governmental, and transit hubs across the capital. The closed stations include Lok Kalyan Marg, Rajiv Chowk, Patel Chowk, Ramakrishna Ashram Marg, Barakhamba Road, Supreme Court, Seva Teerth, Janpath, Mandi House, Central Secretariat, ITO, Delhi Gate, Indraprastha, Khan Market, Jor Bagh, Shivaji Stadium, and Jhandewalan. Passengers are advised to plan their commutes accordingly and utilize alternative transit routes.
