US FBI Seeks Punjab-Origin Man in Global Organised Crime Investigation

Punjab

Washington (Rajeev Sharma): The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has issued a public notice identifying Nitish Kaushal as a wanted individual in connection with an alleged international criminal syndicate believed to have operated across multiple countries.

In a post shared by the agency, the FBI alleged that Kaushal is associated with a transnational organisation that reportedly began in Punjab, India, before expanding its activities to several overseas locations, including California in the United States.

Investigators claim the network is suspected of involvement in a wide range of serious offences, including homicide, abduction, drug distribution, extortion, illegal arms trafficking, money laundering and human smuggling.

The FBI said the organisation allegedly maintained operations within the Central District of California while also extending its reach beyond the United States through cross-border criminal activities.

While releasing Kaushal’s name, the agency did not disclose additional information about his current location or whether any arrests have been made in relation to the investigation. Authorities have appealed to members of the public to share any information that could help trace the suspect.

The case forms part of the FBI’s broader crackdown on international organised crime networks that allegedly exploit global routes for trafficking, financial crimes and violent criminal operations.

Officials have indicated that the investigation is continuing, with law enforcement agencies working to gather further evidence and identify individuals believed to be connected to the alleged syndicate. No statement from Nitish Kaushal or anyone representing him has been made public so far.
