Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh)— Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Tuesday announced that the state government has formulated an extensive, phased development blueprint for the comprehensive beautification of Brahma Sarovar and other prominent religious heritage sites across Kurukshetra. Responding to questions raised by MLA Ashok Arora during Question Hour in the Haryana Vidhan Sabha, the Chief Minister confirmed that multiple beautification and infrastructure tenders have been floated, while several other related development works, including a modern rest house facility, are currently progressing through the tendering pipeline.
Highlighting the sacred city’s international spiritual significance, Saini noted that construction of the prominent Gita Dwar is actively underway alongside ongoing expansions to pilgrim amenities, sanitation, and hospitality infrastructure. He recalled the historic gathering during the martyrdom commemoration of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji in Kurukshetra, which was attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that development works are being systematically aligned with the city’s religious and cultural stature.
The Chief Minister also underscored major urban transit achievements, pointing to the recently completed railway elevated track inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Conceived when Saini was a Member of Parliament and Union Minister Manohar Lal served as Chief Minister, the elevated railway corridor has permanently eliminated traffic congestion at level crossings and vastly improved internal connectivity across Kurukshetra for local residents and visiting pilgrims alike.
