Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has made a passionate appeal to the people of Punjab to bring about a decisive political change to secure their children’s future, restore regional prosperity, and contribute toward a developed nation. Addressing a massive public gathering on Wednesday from the historic land of Sri Muktsar Sahib, Saini emphasized that the time has arrived for Punjab to regain its lost glory and transition from a “cheated province” into a truly developed and vibrant state by embracing development, good governance, and national interest. Paying rich tributes to Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the Sahibzadas, Mai Bhago, and the forty immortal warriors (Chali Mukte) associated with the holy site, Saini maintained that he was speaking not merely as a neighboring head of state, but as a concerned younger brother and well-wisher sharing a deep cultural and historical bond with Punjab.
Launching a dual offensive on the opposition, the Chief Minister accused both the Congress party and the ruling Aam Aadmi Party of failing to meet public aspirations despite being given historic mandates. Saini criticized Congress for deep-rooted institutional corruption, dynastic nepotism, and stalling key development projects, while assailing the current AAP administration for converting Punjab into a political laboratory through unfulfilled promises and massive financial mismanagement. He pointed out that AAP’s major pre-election guarantee to provide monthly financial assistance to women remains unfulfilled even after years of governance. In sharp contrast, he highlighted his own administration’s dynamic implementation of the Deendayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana in Haryana, which regularly transfers ₹2,100 per month directly into the bank accounts of women from economically weaker families.
The Chief Minister expressed deep concern over the acute socio-economic crises currently gripping Punjab, stating that drug trafficking, gang wars, extortion, and soaring crime rates have completely shattered the morale of ordinary citizens. Saini noted that traders, industrialists, and the general public are living in a state of persistent fear as criminals no longer harbor any dread of the law enforcement machinery. He pointed out that due to the lack of viable local employment, thousands of desperate Punjabi youths are forced to resort to illegal migration routes to move abroad. Addressing agricultural distress, Saini drew comparison with Haryana’s robust farm policies, stating that his government actively procures 24 different crops at Minimum Support Price, having directly transferred ₹1.64 lakh crore into the bank accounts of 12 lakh farmers over the last 11 seasons, whereas farmers in Punjab are still struggling on the streets for their fundamental rights.
Reiterating the Bharatiya Janata Party’s foundational philosophy of development, Saini stated that the party functions strictly on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of development for all and delivers visible results rather than empty slogans. He added that the Haryana government has already successfully executed 66 out of the 217 core commitments listed in its assembly election manifesto within a short span of one and a half years. The political rally was organized by prominent party leader Manveer Kaur Gill and saw high-profile attendance from the Chief Minister’s Political Advisor Tarun Bhandari, State General Secretary Dyal Singh Sodhi, Muktsar District President Satish Asija, Assembly In-charge Rajesh Pathela, former MP Jagmeet Singh Brar, Rahul Sidhu, Pooja Kakkar, Balwinder Singh Minkal, Gurcharan Singh, Amandeep, and Dev Dutt Sharma.
