Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Arun Gupta, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister of Haryana, chaired a high-level review meeting at the Civil Secretariat on Wednesday to finalize the blueprint for an upcoming special publicity and public awareness campaign. Connecting with all Deputy Commissioners across the state via video conferencing, Gupta directed officials to ensure meticulous planning to effectively communicate the government’s 12 years of achievements directly to the public. The meeting saw the presence of several top officials, including Director General of the Agriculture Department Rajnarayan Kaushik, Commissioner and Secretary of the Information, Public Relations, and Languages Department Dr. Amit Agrawal, and Chief Minister’s OSD B.B. Bharti.
The specialized outreach drive, scheduled to run until June 20, aims to create a robust bridge between the administration and citizens through public involvement. Gupta instructed all Deputy Commissioners to immediately lock in duty rosters to guarantee the campaign’s seamless execution. He explicitly directed that Union Ministers, Members of Parliament, Members of the Legislative Assembly, and other grassroots public representatives must be formally invited to anchor all major public ceremonies during this period, reinforcing collaborative governance.
Detailing the action plan, Dr. Amit Agrawal explained that the core objective revolves around expanding the baseline knowledge of both central and state welfare initiatives. A major pillar of the strategy includes structured media dialogues, where state ministers will interact directly with press representatives to roll out comprehensive progress reports. Simultaneously, elected representatives are slated to tour various constituencies to spark real-time, constructive conversations with local residents regarding regional infrastructure projects and social security benefits.
The campaign will also integrate significant environmental and civic initiatives alongside informational distribution. The Forest and Environment Department is tasked with spearheading localized tree plantation drives, which will run in tandem with strict sanitation cleanups across municipal zones and rural sectors, the latter executed in close coordination with village gram panchayats. Furthermore, district headquarters will host ‘Pragati Path’ exhibitions, which are multi-department displays designed to provide a single-window view of development charts over the past twelve years.
To foster deeper engagement among different demographics, the state plans to organize student art and poster competitions focused on the theme of a developed Haryana, alongside specialized awareness camps by the Agriculture Department and Chaudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University to educate farmers on the benefits of natural farming. Additionally, multi-purpose public welfare camps will set up base at the district and sub-divisional levels. These temporary hubs will offer on-the-spot problem resolution and actively register eligible residents for flagship programs, including the Ayushman Bharat health insurance, PM Surya Ghar solar initiative, PM Swanidhi, and the Lakhpati Didy scheme.
