Murthal(Balwinder Singh): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Thursday credited the Bharatiya Janata Party’s historic victory in the recent municipal corporation elections to the tireless dedication of grassroots party workers and the unwavering trust of the public. Speaking at a grand oath-taking ceremony held at the Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology (DCRUST) in Murthal, the Chief Minister praised workers for maintaining rigorous public outreach despite extreme summer heat, which ultimately culminated in a landslide mandate for the newly elected leadership.
The high-profile event marked the official swearing-in of the newly elected Mayor of Sonipat, Rajiv Jain, along with the incoming team of municipal councillors. Divisional Commissioner Rajiv Ratan administered the official oath of office and secrecy to the new civic body representatives. Chief Minister Saini extended his congratulations to Mayor Jain and his team, urging them to prioritize transparency, empathy, and responsiveness to quickly resolve civic grievances and maintain public faith.
During his address, the Chief Minister emphasized that the BJP remains a cadre-based organization defined by internal democratic values and equal opportunity, contrasting it with traditional political entities. He heavily underscored women’s empowerment as a core administrative priority, aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s national vision. To highlight this commitment, Saini pointed to the recent appointment of Dr. Archana Gupta as the party’s State President, asserting that placing women in decisive leadership positions is fundamental to the state’s growth.
The Chief Minister assured attendees that the provincial government will work in tandem with the new municipal team to accelerate Sonipat’s infrastructure development threefold. He announced that immediate blueprints are being deployed to upgrade roads, clean sanitation corridors, optimize drinking water networks, and expand modern sewerage and electrical grids. The ceremony saw strong representation from the state leadership, including Development and Panchayats Minister Krishan Lal Panwar, Co-operation Minister Dr. Arvind Sharma, and regional lawmakers.
