Alberta Associate Minister Muhammad Yaseen Extends Eid al-Adha Greetings

Calgary (Rajeev Sharma): Alberta’s Associate Minister of Multiculturalism, Muhammad Yaseen, has extended warm wishes to Muslim communities in Alberta and across the world on the occasion of Eid al-Adha.

In a message released on Wednesday, Yaseen described Eid al-Adha as one of the most significant festivals in Islam, observed alongside the annual Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca. He noted that millions of Muslims around the globe mark the occasion through prayers, family gatherings and acts of charity.

The minister highlighted that the festival commemorates the devotion and obedience of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham), who was prepared to sacrifice his son in submission to God’s command before a ram was provided in his place.

Yaseen said the occasion serves as a reminder of important values such as compassion, sacrifice, generosity and faith. He added that the festival is also a time for reflection, gratitude and helping those in need.

The statement acknowledged the spirit of unity and community associated with Eid celebrations, as families and friends come together to share meals and prayers.

Concluding his message, the associate minister conveyed his best wishes to all those observing the festival and expressed hope for peace, happiness and blessings in the coming year.

“Eid al-Adha Mubarak,” the statement said.
