Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini chaired a high-level ‘Pragati’ review meeting at the Haryana Civil Secretariat to evaluate the state of major infrastructure developments valued at over 75 crore rupees. Emphasizing that health infrastructure must adhere to the highest institutional benchmarks, the Chief Minister warned that no compromise regarding construction quality or structural integrity will be tolerated. He issued decisive implementation timelines to department heads, mandating enhanced monitoring to prevent administrative bottlenecks.

The session featured a detailed status analysis of three major healthcare infrastructure expansions. Officials reported that the Mother and Child Hospital and accompanying service block at the Faridabad Civil Hospital has reached 28 per cent physical completion, with a final delivery date projected for January 18, 2028. Progress on the 138.12 crore rupee, 100-bed Mother and Child Hospital facility inside the Sonipat Civil Hospital complex stands at 20 per cent, tracking toward a completion deadline of October 19, 2027. Additionally, foundational work for the 100-bed general hospital in Assandh, Karnal, being constructed at an estimated cost of 76.19 crore rupees, has progressed to 25 per cent execution.

Broader industrial and educational infrastructure projects also received critical oversight to ensure steady development momentum. The International Convention Centre in Sector 78, Faridabad, carrying a budget of 378.90 crore rupees, has achieved 50 per cent structural completion and is expected to be finalized by February 2027. Meanwhile, construction on the comprehensive Maharana Pratap Horticultural University campus in Karnal, a massive 422.54 crore rupee academic project, has reached the 43 per cent mark.

In the agricultural and processing sector, the Cooperative Department secured approval to establish a new 200 crore rupee multi-feed ethanol plant with a capacity of 90 KLPD at the Panipat Sugar Mills, with final tendering documents currently advancing to the High-Powered Purchase Committee for execution during the 2027–2028 financial cycle. Emergency response capabilities will also receive a modern upgrade, supported by the completed land registration for a 100 crore rupee Fire Training Centre in Kheri Masania, Jind, alongside a separate procurement approval for a 120 crore rupee, 104-metre aerial ladder platform aimed at strengthening urban disaster management.

To drive youth empowerment, Chief Minister Saini extensively reviewed the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme, directing officials to organize frequent, results-oriented district-level job fairs to link young professionals with industrial sectors. He ordered the Departments of Technical Education, Higher Education, Industrial Training, and Employment to eliminate institutional silos and ensure that monthly job placement statistics yield concrete economic returns across the state.
