Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana Public Health Engineering and Public Works (Buildings & Roads) Minister Ranbir Gangwa has issued strict directives to officials from both departments, emphasizing that ensuring uninterrupted drinking water supply during the intense summer heat wave and accelerating road repairs before the monsoon are among the government’s highest priorities. The minister stressed that administrative staff must increase their presence on the ground to address and resolve public grievances directly in the field, specifically extending these operational guidelines to Executive Engineers and Sub-Divisional Officers.
In an official correspondence sent to Deputy Commissioners across the state, Minister Gangwa highlighted that officials from both key departments are actively engaged in monitoring water distribution, resolving local water scarcity complaints, patching potholes, and executing vital infrastructure projects. He noted that during this critical period, it is essential for technical staff to spend maximum time outdoors rather than being tied up in administrative travel, ensuring that community issues are rectified immediately on-site.
Aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s national call for fuel conservation, reduced transit times, and the promotion of digital communication, Minister Gangwa urged district administrations to heavily adopt technology-driven governance. He requested that all state Deputy Commissioners transition their routine departmental review meetings to virtual platforms whenever possible. By shifting these administrative briefings online, the government aims to minimize unnecessary travel, save state fuel expenditures, and maximize the time engineers spend overseeing crucial development work in the field.
The Public Works and Public Health Engineering Minister reiterated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, the state government remains dedicated to strengthening public utilities and ensuring the timely completion of development projects to provide immediate relief to residents.
