Panchkula District Power Consumers Grievance Redressal Forum to Hold Hearing on May 26

Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): The Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) reaffirmed its commitment to providing uninterrupted power supply to citizens by organizing a dedicated consumer grievance redressal forum. The Chairman and members of the UHBVN Circle Forum Panchkula will conduct official proceedings on May 26 at the office of the Superintending Engineer in Panchkula. The session will explicitly focus on resolving issues faced by electricity consumers residing within the Panchkula district.

During the hearing, the forum will address a wide array of consumer complaints, including billing discrepancies, voltage fluctuations, metering issues, service disconnections, load reconnections, power supply interruptions, and operational safety. It will also review cases involving non-compliance with the directives of the Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission. The initiative is part of a broader administrative effort to offer swift solutions to regional power issues.

However, certain legal and criminal matters will fall outside the jurisdiction of this specific meeting. The forum will not entertain or hear cases related to power theft, unauthorized use of electricity, or penalties levied under Sections 126 and 135 to 139 of the Electricity Act. Furthermore, inquiries into electrical accidents and related investigations falling under Section 161 of the Act will not be covered during the Panchkula session.
