BJP’s Landslide Victory in Municipal Polls a Mandate for Development and Service, Says CM Nayab Singh Saini

Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has characterized the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) significant victory in the recent municipal elections as a definitive public endorsement of development and transparent governance. Speaking as the chief guest at a felicitation ceremony in Panchkula for newly elected mayors, chairmen, and councillors, Saini expressed his gratitude to the residents of the province for choosing what he described as a “triple engine government.” He asserted that the one-sided results across major urban centres, including Panchkula, Ambala, and Sonipat, indicate that citizens have prioritized national interest and progress over the politics of nepotism and misinformation associated with the opposition.

The Chief Minister emphasized that this electoral success is a reflection of the public’s unwavering faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of inclusive growth and the spirit of Antyodaya, which focuses on uplifting the most marginalized sections of society. Saini noted that the victory follows similar successful trends in regions like Assam and West Bengal, suggesting a growing national consensus in favour of the BJP’s administrative model. He further predicted that the people of Punjab would soon follow suit, inspired by the positive changes seen in Haryana and other neighbouring regions over the last eleven years.

During his address, Saini reminded the newly elected representatives that their mandate is a call for service rather than an acquisition of power. He urged the mayors and councillors to prioritize the basic needs of their constituents, such as improved infrastructure, electricity, and water supply, by adopting the mantra of “Citizen is God.” The Chief Minister reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fulfilling its promises, noting that out of 217 resolutions made during the assembly elections, 63 have already been implemented within a mere eighteen months, contrasting this with previous governments that allegedly failed to deliver on their manifestos.

The ceremony was attended by several high-ranking dignitaries, including BJP State President Mohan Lal Kaushik and Cabinet Ministers Vipul Goyal, Ranbir Gangwa, and Dr. Arvind Sharma. Newly elected mayors, including Shyam Lal Bansal of Panchkula, Akshita Saini of Ambala, and Rajiv Jain of Sonipat, were also present as the Chief Minister highlighted the importance of accountability and local leadership. Saini concluded by praising the dedicated efforts of party workers who campaigned through extreme heat to bring the government’s welfare schemes to every doorstep, effectively cementing the party’s presence across the province’s urban landscape.
