Tarn Taran Youth Appointed First Officer in New South Wales Police, Brings Pride to Punjab

Rajeev Sharma :- Gurkanwaljeet Singh, a native of historic Chohla Sahib town in Tarn Taran district, has brought laurels to Punjab after being appointed as a First Officer in the New South Wales (NSW) Police Department in Bathurst, Australia.

His achievement has sparked celebrations across the region and among the Punjabi community abroad. Hailing from a modest background, Gurkanwaljeet’s journey to securing a position in one of Australia’s prestigious law enforcement agencies is being seen as a testament to hard work, perseverance and determination.

Expressing pride over their son’s accomplishment, his father Amarbir Singh Senti and mother Kanwaljeet Kaur said it was a matter of immense honour for the family that he had successfully overcome cultural and professional challenges in a foreign country to achieve such a distinguished position.

Residents of Chohla Sahib said the achievement had once again placed the historic town on the international map. Community members noted that Gurkanwaljeet becoming part of the security system of a foreign government was not only a proud moment for his family, but also for the entire Punjabi fraternity.

They added that his success reflects the growing global presence and capabilities of Punjabi youth, who continue to excel in different fields across the world through dedication and merit.
