Punjab Minister Harpal Cheema Alleges BJP Hand Behind Firing at Diljit Dosanjh’s Manager’s Residence

LGurpreet Singh :- Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Cheema on Wednesday sparked a political storm by alleging that the BJP was behind the firing incident at the residence of Gurpartap Kang, manager of Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh, in Haryana’s Gondar village. Cheema claimed the attack was carried out through the Lawrence Bishnoi gang to intimidate the singer after he allegedly refused to join the BJP.

Addressing the media, Cheema accused the BJP of using “questionable tactics” and alleged that gangsters were being used to threaten celebrities and influential personalities across the country. He further claimed that gangster Lawrence Bishnoi was operating under political protection from the Gujarat and Central governments.

The controversy erupted after the Lawrence Bishnoi gang claimed responsibility for the firing at Gurpartap Kang’s residence. In a social media post, gang members Tyson Bishnoi and Arju Bishnoi alleged that the attack was carried out using Austrian-made weapons. The gang also levelled serious allegations against Kang, accusing him of misconduct during Diljit Dosanjh’s overseas shows.

According to the post, the gang claimed that repeated warnings had been sent to Diljit Dosanjh and his team members, including Sonali and Gurpartap Kang, demanding action over the allegations. They alleged that no response was received, following which the firing incident allegedly took place.

The incident has intensified political tensions in Punjab, with opposition parties and ruling leaders trading sharp accusations over the matter. Meanwhile, security agencies have launched an investigation into the firing incident as well as the claims made on social media.
