Pehowa (Balwinder Singh): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini participated in the state-level “Somnath Swabhiman Parv” programme held at the Sri Sangameshwar Mahadev Temple in Arunay, Pehowa, on Monday. The Chief Minister performed traditional prayers at the temple’s sanctum sanctorum, seeking peace and prosperity for the residents of the province. During the event, he officially flagged off a grand Kalash Yatra involving 101 women, an occasion marked by a significant gathering of devotees and a vibrant spiritual atmosphere.
In addition to the religious ceremonies, Chief Minister Saini inaugurated the Arunay Langar Hall located within the temple complex to serve visiting pilgrims. He also extended a warm welcome to various saints and religious leaders who had arrived from several pilgrimage sites across the historic 48 Kos region. Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister emphasized that such cultural and religious events play a crucial role in reinforcing social harmony and preserving the rich heritage and traditions of the state.
The Chief Minister also opened a specialized exhibition curated by the Information, Public Relations, and Language Department of Haryana. Titled “Somnath Swabhiman Parv,” the display featured the storied history and cultural significance of the Somnath Temple through a series of photographs and detailed narratives. Saini noted that these initiatives are vital for connecting the youth with their historical roots and fostering a sense of pride in national identity and faith.
Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister visited the sacred site of Jyotisar to offer prayers and inspect ongoing development works. He reiterated that the provincial government remains committed to upgrading historical and religious landmarks to ensure world-class facilities for tourists and devotees. The programme was attended by several prominent figures, including Gita Manishi Swami Gyananand Ji Maharaj, Mahant Ravindra Puri, and various government officials and community leaders.
