Haryana to Celebrate Somnath Swabhiman Parv to Honour a Millennium of Unbroken Faith, Says CM Nayab Saini

Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh); The Haryana government has announced that it will host a state-wide celebration titled “Somnath Swabhiman Parv – 1000 Years of Unbroken Faith” on May 11, 2026. This significant initiative is dedicated to India’s Sanatan culture, spiritual faith, and the proud history of the nation. The event aims to connect the younger generation with the country’s vast cultural heritage and the resilient history of the Somnath Temple, which serves as a symbol of the indomitable spirit and self-respect that has preserved India’s cultural consciousness through numerous historical challenges.

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini is scheduled to preside as the chief guest at the primary programme in Kurukshetra. The celebration will be observed in every district across the state, with various union ministers, state cabinet members, and members of parliament leading the festivities. Union Minister Rao Inderjit Singh will lead the event in Nuh, while Union Minister Krishan Pal Gurjar will be in Faridabad. Other high-ranking officials including Assembly Speaker Harvinder Kalyan in Karnal and Deputy Speaker Dr. Krishan Lal Middha in Jind will also join the proceedings to highlight the cultural and historical importance of the day.

The provincial leadership will be out in full force, with Energy Minister Anil Vij attending in Ambala, Development and Panchayat Minister Krishan Lal Panwar in Sonipat, and Industries Minister Rao Narbir Singh in Gurugram. The initiative ensures that every region is involved, with Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda in Panipat, Revenue Minister Vipul Goel in Panchkula, and Agriculture Minister Shyam Singh Rana in Yamunanagar. The presence of social activists, local legislators, and prominent MPs like Naveen Jindal in Kaithal and Dharambir Singh in Charkhi Dadri further underscores the collective effort to celebrate this millennium of spiritual endurance.
