Gurpreet Singh :- The Punjab Government has announced a gazetted public holiday across the state on May 1 in observance of International Labour Day. All government offices, along with private and government schools and colleges, will remain closed for the day. The holiday was already included in the official list of public holidays issued earlier by the state authorities. Labour Day is marked annually to recognise the contribution and hard work of workers across various sectors. Normal activities in educational institutions and government departments will resume the following day, while essential services are expected to function without disruption.
