New Industrial Model Township to be Established in Naraingarh Announces CM Saini

Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): In a major step toward accelerating industrial growth in Haryana, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced on Wednesday the establishment of a new Industrial Model Township (IMT) in Naraingarh. The decision was formalized following a meeting between the Chief Minister and a delegation of local farmers, who reached a consensus on the land compensation rates set by the government. This agreement clears the way for the acquisition of approximately 450 acres of land, marking a significant milestone for the economic transformation of the Ambala district.

The Chief Minister highlighted that this initiative is part of his broader vision to establish 10 new IMTs across the state, a commitment originally outlined in his budget speech as Finance Minister. With IMTs already progressing in strategic hubs like Manesar, Bawal, Rohtak, and Kharkhoda, the addition of Naraingarh—alongside ongoing work in Ambala—aims to position the northern region as a premier industrial corridor. Saini stated that the goal is to develop the Ambala-Naraingarh area into a modern industrial centre on par with the scale and infrastructure of Gurugram.

During the meeting, farmers expressed their gratitude by distributing sweets, acknowledging the government’s efforts to bring large-scale development to their doorstep. The Chief Minister emphasized that the IMT will not only boost the local economy but also create thousands of direct and indirect employment opportunities for the youth. By grounding a budget promise within a single year, the administration seeks to demonstrate its commitment to efficient policy implementation and balanced regional growth across Haryana.

The establishment of the Naraingarh IMT aligns with the “Viksit Bharat 2047” vision championed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with Haryana aiming to be a frontrunner in the nation’s industrial journey. The project will provide a specialized ecosystem for diverse industries, further strengthening Ambala’s existing reputation as a hub for scientific instruments and mixed manufacturing. Senior cabinet ministers, including Rao Narbir Singh and Vipul Goel, were present at the meeting along with top administrative officials to oversee the transition to the development phase.
